Our mission is:
To improve global detection rates for Congenital Heart Diseases in the fetus through:
- promoting good practices in prenatal sonography among examiners;
- teaching through comparison by emphasizing 3D morphological and geometric differences between normal and abnormal fetal hearts;
- applying innovative educational solutions, such as synthetic teaching based on novel technologies, e.g. 3D printing, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR).
Our team consists of specialists in various fields
healthcare – physicians focused on prenatal sonography with 20-years expertise, who provide substantive framework for our projects;
physics, computer science and graphics – designers and developers responsible for developing our applications;
industrial design– engineers specializing in product design developing and implementing 3D fetal heart models, and accessories.

Fetal Heart VR - first version
FHVR app for Oculus Go (2018) - no longer available, but part of our story
FHVR was the first VR simulator of Fetal Echo.
The first Fetal Heart VR app was released to first users in 2018. It had only 4 heart defects, limited simulation of transducer movements, no Color Doppler, no Freeze, only black-and-white representation of ultrasound image. Yet it was received with such a positive response, that we decided to commit ourselves to develop it further.
In 2020 two things happened – COVID and end of Oculus Go production. Both impacted our ability to work on the first version of the application tremendously – we knew that we won’t be able to continue to develop it in previous form. We decided to push harder – and started to rebuild the app from ground up for Oculus Quest – with completely new probe movement simulation, completely new, much more detailed normal heart model and many more improvements.
We are excited to release the new version of Fetal Heart VR in 2021.
Do you want to use Fetal Heart VR v.2 to teach other sonographers?
Contact to us for a custom license or custom version of the application suitable for your needs. We have run teaching classes and VR simulation rooms with Fetal Heart VR for 3 years, and also used Fetal Heart VR in our Facebook educational streams. We believe Fetal Heart VR to be a very scalable educational platform.
